Loretta had a big day with his bat. He doubled scoring a run in the 1st
inning, lofted a three-run bomb (his 7th of the season) in the 2nd inning,
laced a base-knock in the 4th inning, delivered a one-base hit in the 5th
inning and laced a single in the 9th inning. Caracas kept the pressure on
throughout the contest as they scored in 6 different innings.
Johnson(8-12) went 6 innings allowing 1 run for the victory. Casey Fossum(4-8)
ended up with the loss. He was unable to control the Caracas offense and
allowed 7 hits and 2 walks in 2 and 1/3 innings.
